CARSO Diligence
Armor for the Broker-Liability Era

montgomery diligence, done.

Signed by Carso. Recorded on the Exchange.

In plain terms: after the Supreme Court's Montgomery decision,
a broker can be sued when a carrier they hired causes harm.
This is the document that proves you vetted.

The Certified Diligence Report (CDR™):
a sourced, signed, per-carrier investigation
that answers the question every counterparty now asks —
show me how you vetted this carrier.

One Infamous Example Illustrates the Urgency

See how Super Ego lives on — in the sample report.

One Carrier on the
Do Not Use List
Reveals Its Reincarnation

A bad record can hide beneath a new name.
The registry won't tell you. The record will.

This is a real CDR, produced by our investigation pipeline on 2026-07-26.

The subject: Gray Falcon United LLC
USDOT 3288433, active and bonded in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Run it through any ordinary check, and it passes.
Here is what each view shows.

what the registry shows

ACTIVE broker of property. Surety bond on file since 2019 — never lapsed. No out-of-service order. No safety rating issues. No former name shown anywhere on the record. Every box a routine vetting checklist asks about: green.

what the CDR reveals

The same authority operated until recently as Super Ego Logistics LLC — part of the Super Ego network that 60 Minutes covered in April 2026, the subject of a publicly acknowledged FMCSA investigation and an active federal class action. The current name carries no public trace of that lineage. Our report documents the connection, source by source.

the phone that didn't change
The archived Super Ego Logistics website (January 2023) published its office phone. It is the identical number on Gray Falcon United's live federal registration today. Same line, new name — captured from the Internet Archive and FMCSA's own SAFER system.
the officer of record
The principal officer on the current registration is the same individual identified in federal court filings and national press as Super Ego's founder — a registry fact, cross-referenced to the dockets, stated exactly as the record states it.
the equipment trail
148 tractor VINs appear in federal inspection records under two or more carriers of the alleged network — and when one 200-truck carrier lost its authority in December 2025, a new carrier granted authority eleven days earlier inherited its equipment, every shared VIN moving in strict sequence.

Every finding carries its source and retrieval date.
Allegations stay attributed.
The company's denial is printed with equal prominence.
The report says plainly what we could not verify.

And the PDF in your file is the portable copy of a record we keep — like a deed:
signed by Carso, recorded on the Exchange
provable against the record, years later, in front of anyone.

who's asking

Three Counterparties
Now Ask
The Same Question

Since the Supreme Court's unanimous Montgomery decision (May 2026),
brokers can be sued in state court for negligent carrier selection.

Underwriter, shipper, courtroom —
at renewal, at RFP, in discovery —
all ask for the same artifact:
your documented vetting of this carrier.

Your underwriter — every renewal
Insurers may condition coverage on your carrier-selection policy, and some offer premium relief for adopted practices — ask your underwriter what they want to see. "premium relief if a broker adopts certain practices" — Benesch, broker advisory (2026)
Your shipper — every RFP
Shipper counsel now vets the broker's vetting before awarding lanes. Every tender documented, signed, and publicly verifiable is a bid weapon the enterprise brokerages don't carry.
The courtroom — the standard
The question in discovery is operational, not rhetorical. "Did your organization exercise ordinary care in selecting the carrier?" — M3 Insurance, Montgomery advisory (2026)
−50%+
new broker bond filings fell by more than half the month Montgomery was decided (FMCSA filings, Carso spine)
~15%
of census-"active" carriers fail a live authority check — static-list vetting is provably stale (Carso spine, 2026-07)

why not the usual tools

A Score Proves You Knew.
A Report Proves You Acted.

Opinion blacklists
Carrier411/FreightGuard publish opinions a carrier can't fight. Relying on them is hard to defend as ordinary care. We publish sourced facts the carrier can answer with proof.
Score & alert feeds
A subscription outputs an alert — evidence you knew, not that you acted. Worse: a policy you saw and didn't follow is the fatal deposition pattern. The CDR is the act of care, recorded.
Biometric ID checks
A face scan sails past a spoofed email on a real, stolen DOT. We verify the business and the channel — no biometrics, no forced consent — with an appealable verdict: Verified, Caution, or High-Risk.

We have not found another signed, per-carrier investigative artifact sold this way —
per report, no subscription.

That's the deliverable your counterparties are asking for.

Everyone Else Tells You a Carrier
Went Dark.
We Tell You It Came Back.

A vetting report is true the day it is written.
Carriers change after you book them.

When it launches, Monitor will re-check every carrier in your book against live federal records,
every day, and tell you what changed — with the evidence attached.

Critical — act now
Authority lost. Out-of-service order. Insurance cancelled. The three that can strand a load or void your selection defense — flagged the day the federal record moves.
Warning — look closer
Safety rating change, new insurer, officer change, address change, legal-name change. Individually ordinary; together, the shape of a carrier becoming a different company.
The successor hunt
When a watched carrier loses authority or goes out of service, we go looking for what replaced it — new registrations sharing its phone, email, address, officer, or a near-identical name.

That last one is the part nobody else does.

A monitoring feed tells you a carrier went dark.
It does not tell you the same operation is back next month
under a new DOT number, quoting your desk again.

Motive and timing are exactly what the federal factors ask about
so when the motive appears, the hunt runs automatically,
and you get the overlap, the dates, and the sources.

Every alert is a sourced fact, not a score:
what changed, when, old value, new value, where we saw it.

Linkage findings are reported as linkage — consistent with reincarnation factors,
never as a verdict — and any company we name can answer with proof.

Monitor is coming soon, included with Diligence Pro and Diligence Verified.
It is not sold separately — the watch only means something
when there is a sourced report underneath it.

Not every carrier needs watching every day.
You set the cadence per carrier — and pay by how often we look.

why the signature matters

Proof That Nothing Was Altered.

A PDF can be edited by anyone with the right software.
A date changed, a finding softened, a verdict flipped —
and the file still looks perfectly ordinary.

That is a real problem for a document whose whole job
is to be believed years later, by people who were not there.

The fingerprint
When we finish a report we compute a SHA-256 hash of the exact PDF — a 64-character fingerprint. Change one pixel, one comma, one date, and the fingerprint changes completely. It cannot be forged backwards.
The signature
We sign that fingerprint with our private Ed25519 key and publish the signature and our public key. Anyone can confirm the fingerprint came from Carso and from nobody else. We cannot quietly re-sign a changed report and pretend it was the original.
The record
The fingerprint and signature live on a public verify page, dated, on TheCarso Exchange — available around the clock, to your counsel, your insurer, or opposing counsel.

This is forensic integrity, in the evidentiary sense:
the copy in your file can be tested against the record
and shown to be the same document we issued, unaltered,
on the date we issued it.

Run the check yourself — one command on your own machine:
shasum -a 256 your-report.pdf
and compare it to the fingerprint on the verify page.

If the two match, the document is untouched.
If someone altered it, they will not.

Each Carso Diligence report is an evidence-of-diligence document — OSINT-sourced, calibrated, and explicit about what could and couldn't be verified. It is informational and probabilistic; you retain the final selection decision. Investigations concern the carrier entity (DOT/MC); individuals appear only as linkage evidence with stated confidence. Carso complies with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) where applicable. Keep the report on file as documentation of the diligence you performed — your copy stays signed and verifiable against the record on TheCarso Exchange, around the clock.
